A group of students at Emory University led a campus-wide protest after someone wrote ‘Donald Trump 2016’ in chalk across campus, leading the university to provide “emergency counseling” sessions in response.
There's nothing more tragic than a sick child.

I swear I posted the original Emory article a few days ago...?
Anyway, a few things here:
1. The original article didn't mention counseling and all the other things the Snopes report talks about. However, it still contained a lot of information about students being upset. Lots of quotes about the messages being racist.
2. The Snopes article focuses on the stuff the original didn't discuss. again, the counseling and whatnot.
3. Snopes is often accused of being left leaning. After reading the article Catt linked, I'd say it's more of an opinion piece, maybe even something worse. While it counters the exaggerated points of the original story (things that clearly were blown up to make the students seem worse), it actually confirms that students did protest due to the Trump chalk messages. It even ends with a statement that tries to explain the political protest as some sort of unbiased thing, yet clearly screams bias.
4. Before you hit me with the Snopes isn't left leaning link from their own site...read the writer's bio. She clearly addresses it there with a phony bio, which is hilarious considering she writes for a site that's supposed to be about facts, not bullshit.
Long story short, the Emory thing happened. It didn't happen to the extent that stories like that get blown up to, which is what Snopes tries to brush away, but it did fucking happen.

Article on this for what it's worth.
“I’m supposed to feel comfortable and safe [here],” one student said. “But this man is being supported by students on our campus and our administration shows that they, by their silence, support it as well … I don’t deserve to feel afraid at my school,” she added.
To be honest though, I think that millennials get a bad rap. I think the ones that they keep pointing at and laughing are more of a minority to the group than the hippies were to their generation in the 60's. Latest polls show that millennials support Ted Cruz at a rate 14% higher than Hillary Clinton for 2016. But we'll see I guess.

My experience has been that the safe-zone-cuddle-babies are indeed a small but loud minority. The sane and rational millennials are too busy getting on with their lives to stand around spouting bullshit to the press.

I'd agree with that TPR. Just looking at polling data from millennials, (Cruz and Sanders rank high while Trump and Clinton rank low) is that they value and are drawn towards authenticity. We may end up with an actual discussion in a decade or two with issues if we don't destroy everything before then.

Whoa, now, I wouldn't go that far. This isn't anything new, you know. There's always been a mostly quiet majority that just keeps on going. But the loud crazies will always get more attention.

Can't believe it.
President Barack Obama himself weighed in on the comments at a news conference on Friday, saying, "The person who made the statements doesn't know much about foreign policy or nuclear policy or the Korean Peninsula or the world generally."
Trump said something stupid enough that I'm deferring to Obama's response.

It’s very unfair, the 1,237. The reason it’s very unfair — and I think I’ll get there, I think I’ll get there! — but the reason it’s very unfair is the following:
When I started there were 17 candidates and people never says this — I’ve never even heard it said — those early states — nobody says it and it’s very unfair — but on a lot of those early… there were so many candidates that if you got 30% or 25%, you’d win and it would be an unbelievable victory. Honestly, Kasich should not be allowed to run and I’ll go opposite on you: he hurts Trump much more than he hurts Cruz.

He thinks this will force Mexico to fund his wall. (The wall being his worst idea out of many bad ideas.)
The funny part is, if he blocked those funds, we might not need the wall...

As Schrody noted sarcastically, "The smartest businessman in the world should know that you have to license this music if it makes an appearance on TV with you, and they're making appearances on TV — so you're a moron."
The rest of his comments are decidedly less nice.

I hate this time of year when music artists grab headlines by denying anyone not left leaning from using their music for rallies. Could there be anything more pointless?

It's their intellectual property. If they don't want someone using it, they get to enforce that, especially if it could affect their bottom line.
