An important message about your Dell information
Hello,
Dell Technologies takes the privacy and confidentiality of your information seriously. We are currently investigating an incident involving a Dell portal, which contains a database with limited types of customer information related to purchases from Dell. We believe there is not a significant risk to our customers given the type of information involved.
What data was accessed?
At this time, our investigation indicates limited types of customer information was accessed, including:
• Name
• Physical address
• Dell hardware and order information, including service tag, item description, date of order and related warranty information
The information involved does not include financial or payment information, email address, telephone number or any highly sensitive customer information.
What is Dell doing?
Upon identifying the incident, we promptly implemented our incident response procedures, began investigating, took steps to contain the incident and notified law enforcement. We have also engaged a third-party forensics firm to investigate this incident. We will continue to monitor the situation.
What can I do?
Our investigation indicates your information was accessed during this incident, but we do not believe there is significant risk given the limited information impacted. However, you should always keep in mind these tips to help avoid tech support phone scams. If you notice any suspicious activity related to your Dell accounts or purchases, please immediately report concerns to
security@dell.com.

The GitHub one is pretty big news right now. Over 4000 SMBs have their data at risk.
It's pretty amazing to me that our government (and all really) has been so inept at addressing this issue to the nation's (the world's) businesses and economies.

Friend of mine works at CISA, and it didn't.
The notion that trump is not singularly awful in our lifetimes is absurd.

Stuff like this happens all the time, and furthermore, I'd love to hear how Trump is specifically responsible for some plebe not securing data. Being a veteran, I remember when all my personal data was on a laptop that was sitting unsecured in a computer shop where it never should have been. Similar stories have happened multiple times.

never arguing that he isn't. However, only time will tell if his mistakes are worse than Biden's...sorry, the people controlling the government while a mentally ill man was supposed to be in charge... The open border policy is easily in the running for worst policy in the history of this country.
And there are people who would say Carter was worse. (MUCH better human being, but a bad president.) He was in our lifetime, but we obviously didn't have much of a dog in the fight at that time. So, I really don't count him.

Some of Trump's budget cuts were indeed stupid. As we've covered when discussing DOGE, right idea, completely botched execution. However, based on all the fraud being uncovered both then and now, it's not like budget cuts weren't needed.
My point on this one is that yes, this particular budget cut was stupid, but the person doing the hiring was likely a previous hire (or the person that hired them). Trump made the hire necessary, but didn't ultimately hire the moron. If you tell your underling to hire someone and they hire Cleatus, is that your fault?
I could point at the CISA and easily make the argument that they're terrible at their mission. Whose fault is that? Are they all morons or is budget and bad policies really to blame (yes)?
So again, not defending Trump, just saying that dismissively blanket blaming him for everything is the same behavior he used to make the decisions that you're attacking. Trump is a symptom of a larger problem that we keep ignoring because of cultism.
I would send you a Trump Christmas card this year, but I'd honestly be embarrassed to buy it.
