For me after the Green Goblin arose, the thought struck me are all his enemies going to be monsters? It was the same as when I watched Smallville and by the end of the first season I was wondering if everyone he fought was going to be infected with "meteor rock".
But Amazing Spiderman 2 was very good in my mind. A lot of issues that you mentioned, especially setting up his friendship with Osborne. As far as why the rush with the Osborne son and father (I forget their first names), the father said he was giving him the secrets that allowed him to live as long as he had. Now why the son didn't use those? Don't get me wrong it still felt a bit much, but they "explained" it in the film that way.

Finally saw this. Very meh. Harry Osborn was so emo, he was giving Spiderman 3 Tobey Maguire a run for his money.
