The episode with those 2 minor characters.... one was an actress... and they killed her rich husband, then got buried alive on the island.

You know, another possibility is that Coffin Locke was from faaaar in the future, for some reason. Maybe Alpert isn't immortal... maybe he just time travels a lot so he appears to be the same age every time we see him in different time periods.
Or....................... maybe for some reason Locke had to move the island, which means he got kicked off and replaced as leader, and then he lost the use of his legs again because he was no longer on the island, and then he killed himself because that sucked.

I don't think it's that last one, then he couldn't go back again but Ben said they had to take him. Doesn't quite mesh.

You know, an awesome tie-in would be to have had Locke's funeral at the Fischer Funeral Home, from Six Feet Under. It was in L.A. People is that show were ALWAYS talking to dead people, too.

Caught up this weekend and I feel the same way.
The plane DID crash, but Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid were sent back in time?
What about Sun?
Why didn't Locke get sent back in time?
By the way, remember when they were still in LA and Ben left Jack to "go tie up some loose ends"? Ben was at the docks where he got beat up and bloodied. Penny and Desmond were at the docks...

I saw an article prior to watching the finale that said "Fan Favorite Killed on Lost". Then I watched it and I'm wondering "Who died?"
I found this season's finale to be very underwhelming. I don't like the course the show is on at the moment.
For one thing, I do not like the John Locke death. He's portrayed almost as a shaman who's one step ahead of the other survivors, tough as nails, and the island seems to like him. So his end is being choked to death by Ben in a seedy hotel back in the real world? Bullshit.
Also, they might have created a bit of a problem in their own logic. They really went out of their way to push the whole "Dead is dead" thing over the past few episodes. I guess they were heavy handed hints that Locke was still dead. Well guess what? They just killed the majority of their cast. Sawyer, Kate, Juliet, Jack, Miles, Daniel, Daniel's mom, Richard, Dr. Chang, Hurley, etc. are all dead. They were at ground zero of a hydrogen bomb. So if "dead IS dead", then none of those characters can return.
If they do return because they stopped the "incident", then everyone has to return. Charlie, Locke, Claire, that brother and sister, etc. Even the Others who have died must return. Plus, Ben should have terminal cancer again.
I think what they're going for is that the survivors in the past will have unwittingly saved Jacob.
I just think they're going to irritate some people if everything over the past 4 years gets conveniently wiped out and didn't matter.
I guess we'll see how the final season plays out.

I agree that the logic in this show is a mess, but I gave up on logic back in season two, when I decided they were all already dead and this is some sort of afterlife thing. It's the only thing that makes sense, to just give up on it making any sense.
I still enjoy it.
