Well, I disagree, I don't think those of us who are still left were ever in favor of regulating other peoples diets, but I don't want to argue and be a dick.

If I'm footing the bill for their diets or results thereof, then my opinion suddenly changes.

I think this sort of bullshit was predicted back before Obamacare became law. Not just by us, but by pundits while supporters were telling us that's horseshit.

Basically, it seems like everything the opposition to Obamacare has said would happen is happening.

Yeah, that's what we always said. When we're paying for it, all of a sudden we're allowed to have an opinion about it, and that's fucked.

You've always been allowed to have an opinion about it.

No one has to listen to it, though. Even now.

Uh, fuck that noise. If I'm paying for medical care, even indirectly, for someone's otherwise preventable illness, they will fucking goddamn sure take reasonable steps to try and prevent it unless financial reality trumps it. If they don't want to play that game, then they don't get treatment. I can see fitness wristband hacking becoming a fun new career field.

And that's when I tell them to go fuck themselves. My employer pays for my health care and if they don't like what I'm doing then they can fire me. But they aren't going to change me.

I can't fire someone on Obamacare.

In and of itself, that incurs a huge financial penalty.

Well... you can, if they work for you and give you cause (or live in certain states). Then the burden of insuring falls upon them, I think.

Listen, Coke is right about our lack of exercise, but fuck them in the goat ass for constantly trying to make their piece of shit product seem healthy or not bad for you.

I've seen less evil from insurance companies.

UK taxes sugary drinks ... well, sort of.
Fruit juices and milk-based drinks will be exempt, as will diet sodas.
