You've either misread or oversimplified and omitted some fun facts.

She recruited him as an ally in ruining the life (via harassment and defaming to potential employers) of another, unnamed person, someone who had published a game wherein you punch a feminist in the face (which, criminally, is not linked). The accuser and accused were amicable during this. Then the defendant tweeted that what she was doing was just as hateful, and she proceeded to smear him in the manner you outlined.
