I don't see how that photo is racist.
Some father saw his kid crawl in a toilet and took a picture because it is funny.

Now... I assume that whatever the Russian is saying is racist... which is racist on my part.

The typed title of the picture (which isn't there) said "Obama's childhood"

So, you were right. And Russian isn't really a race.

Oh lawdy lawd.

I was thinking last night..... I hope someone brings back blackface.... not to insult black people, but to give vapors to those who are susceptible to such things... because fuck their feelings.

Europe keeps racism, and thus horrid blackface going strong.

These people are dutch, I think:

Also how can Russian not be a race? I can think of 3-4 racist stereotypes without trying.

There are some wacky-ass European folk stories.

Robot Chicken had some thing recently talking about how the dutch have a xmas character called... "black pete" or something like that in their traditions, and it was customary to blackface up as black pete.

I don't know the actual details. Robot CHicken isn't much of a primary source for dutch xmas traditions. But that pic looks like what they showed black pete to be.

True.
Actors portraying Zwarte Piet typically put on blackface make-up and colourful Renaissance attire, in addition to curly wigs, red lipstick and earrings.

Alternative version with less racism and more goat.

Now and then I try to give the kid little nuggets of info about racism, with the general idea that racism is bad, some people are willing to judge other people based on their skin color and that's bad, etc etc. He's a very sweet kid so it's a delicate lesson to teach.

I forget the the exact conversation the other day, but I said something like, "White people like you and me." He says, "But you're not white, you're red."

Nice reminder of the high blood pressure. Ugh.

I've got to get to the doctor.

That's what seems to be the popular opinion of the day.
