That trailer looks bad ass, but I wonder what the actual game will be like.

Here is combat. There is a lot of talking in it but you can get an idea. They removed the HUD and you are watching from a different perspective but this is what the fight will be like.

That first guy in the video is an idiot and makes me weep for the potentials of how bad this might end up being.

Combat was NEVER central to the Star Wars storytelling originally. Look at the first movie as an example. The climactic fight is two arthritic masters slowly waving lightsticks at each other. The big space combat scene is all about the facial closeups and character beats. Combat only exists in the original movies to serve the plot and characters and only when it was absolutely necessary.

This, by the way, is also why the new movies sucked so hard. They forgot this key element.

And it'll end up screwing up this MMO, too. There's only so much interesting variation you can get out of MMO combat, and it's not much at all. If your game is focused on the combat then it will get very boring very quickly and will generally suck.

They aren't focusing on the combat. Some might talk about it like they are because that is their department and that clip was about fighting but this is bioware and the story is going to be the focus.

What is took away from that was that they are going to try and make most battles big or epic. Try to stay away from the "Go and collect 12 werewolf pelts." type of thing.

I think the only way your aren't going to like the game is if Bioware games aren't your thing. I think the biggest complaint from people is going to be too much story and background in the game from those that just want to pop in and start fighting.

Okay, then I'll refrain from premature judgement. I was just not the target audience for this particular video.

In another one they talk about how each player will have their own spaceship and be able to design it how they want and it sounded like building a house in The Sims. :)

As for the story I don't remember the exact percentages but at one point when they had recorded 1/4 of the dialog for the game they twittered(or facebooked) that they had already had more recorded dialog then was in every episode of the soparanos. So there will be a lot of story.

I'm not sure story is what I look for, either. It's part of it.

I think I mostly look for environment. I like to explore, to try to go where I'm not supposed to, and also to test the parameters of the game world. I don't exploit, but I do like to figure out how to.

I would have preferred another trailer that showed more story but seeing HK-47 is cool.

I have been ready to hand over my money when the words "bioware" and "Old Republic" were spoke. I don't need any more trailers just a semi firm release date.

Is there anything you can actually accomplish in the game, besides leveling?

Playing the story which is all I care about but beyond this and leveling I don't think so.

Another movie. There is no way the gameplay will come close but still fun to watch.

Wow it's like Han Solo except not.

It's like Star Destroyers except not.

It's like R2-D2 except not.

It's like the Millenium Falcon except not.

It's like the dogfight through the new Death Star except not.
