War for the Planet of the Apes

I know Bad Ape came from another zoo. I was under the impression that once introduced to the population of humans, that the virus could be transmitted to the apes from them. Really not enough apes in the SanFran area for the movie to be realistic in that regard. I was just checking around. There are about 2,000 chimps in the US. Half of them are pets. Most of the other apes in the movies are endangered, so not nearly as many since you eliminate research facilities and pets.
