Murray out.

The date on this article is a day earlier than the last one Gordo posted, but it references Ramis' comments.

Zombies back from the grave.
Nonetheless, for fans of the franchise, looks like GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is oh, so very close to that elusive greenlight. I’m sure once they do in fact greenlight it, Dan Aykroyd can stop shilling vodka and get back to what he does best: Talking about Ghostbusters 3.

Hah.

Bonus if he comes back as a ghost in the movie.

That sucks.

Think Akroyd will still push on with Ghostbusters 3 despite one of his partners being dead and the other refusing to do it?

Does The Blues Brothers 2000 ring a bell?

All four original cast members could die or refuse to go along with things. Just write them into the new script as ghosts. You only needs the rights to make a new movie. Do you think keeping Danny out of the creative process is going to make a better or worse movie? Wtf has he done in the past couple decades that's been good?

You'll notice he wasn't a producer, writer, or director.

Ghostbusters 3 thrown for a loop?

Long story short: They can't find a director. I would wager that Akroyd's strong arming of this movie, and Murray being out are good reasons directors are passing. However, they've now offered the job to Paul Feig with the caveat that he can rewrite the entire script.

I think less Akroyd calling the shots is a good thing. Plus, if McCarthy is brought in and can get Murray to come on, all the better.

I'll go on the record and offer my services.

Spoilers about a scene in the female Ghostbusters movie.

Essentially, Akroyd has a cameo, the joke is dumb, and based on his role apparently this is a reboot.

That killed the only reason I had to give a fuck about that movie.
