The douche boyfriend reminds me of Brian from Family Guy. Smarmy liberal douche.

I think the next season starts soon. Do we know what the in-universe time lapse for season 1 was? Chick had 15 months on her sentence. And the season ended on a hell of a note.

I think it was an earlier episode before the boobies were spoiled.
Yes. It was the second shot of the first episode, even before the opening credit sequence. Like, four seconds in.
Good show, I enjoyed it a lot. Yes, Larry is a douche. But that doesn't mean he's not right for Chapman, since she's also somewhat of a douche. Not enough to ruin the show, but enough. Not all that much talking about feelings in the show as I was lead to believe, thankfully.
Looking forward to season two.

Have watched the first couple episodes of season 2.
Some amazing dialogue... like, "There are no mountains in the midwest, dummy. Just plains and corn and a whole bunch of white people who vote against their own best interests."
Sigh.

I started watching this over the weekend. It's a pretty good show. Your ladies will enjoy it more than you, but yeah, it's worth watching.
While there is man hate, there's a lot of subtle man love. In fact, the most decent human being on the show is a guard. I don't think there's a "men are assholes" theme. I think the theme is "everyone's an asshole and responsible for themselves."
Prepon showed her tits in the first episode.

Let me know when you finish both seasons so we can revisit something.

Black woman writes article about not watching this show.
Why? Because of racism.
1. If you see racism everywhere, you'll find it everywhere.
2. Holy shit is she racist as fuck, and is completely clueless about it.

I'm betting she's also going to argue there are a disproportionate number of young black people in prison (male or female) compared to their more albino-looking counterparts.

She does, yes.
She also points out that whitey has a better jail experience. I don't know how she came to that conclusion.

Your experience in jail is far, far more determined by how much cash you have in the outside world and how effectively you can translate those to resources delivered to you in jail. It doesn't matter if you're plaid or mauve, if you're the dude who places orders and gets the goods inside, you're usually respected.

She says she doesn't watch the show because of
The answer is easy: I’m simply not entertained by shows that feature large numbers of black people exiting, entering, or already in prison.
I would say the black people are equally represented in the prison, equal in numbers with latinas, white girls, and old people of all races, who are their own clique. Shit, blacks might even be a minority, if I cared to stop and count.
Bitch is even wrong about why she doesn't watch it.
I don't want to spoil anything about season 2, but I bet this racist bitch would love it when the strong black sista shows up.

Uh, no. Unless by "the prison," you mean the prison in the show.

All you really need is the opening of the very first episode, anyway.

Martha Stewart's take.
Speaking with Chelsea Handler on a recent episode of the comic’s new talk show, “Chelsea,” Stewart addressed comparisons to her own orange-jumpsuit experience and the depiction of prison on television.
“When you live through something like ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ the real characters are better,” she told Handler. “It’s not as good as the real thing.”
