Funny story coming from Browns mini camp today. Newly acquired Jared Verse wore #8 for the Rams, current Browns QB Dillon Gabriel wears #8. Guess what number Jared Verse is wearing at practice? And he didn't buy it, he straight up Debo'd him and said, "thats my number".

So they are both currently wearing 8 at practice, but there's no way Gabriel keeps that number. Maybe they have a deal and he eventually buys it from him. But why when the thought is he's just gonna be cut. Also, NFL rules that QB's have to wear a number between 1-19, currently all of those numbers are taken by someone else. So either Gabriel has to buy another guys number or he gets cut. I'm guessing the later.

Some jackass bet $200K that the Browns wouldn't win the Super Bowl. He stands to profit just under $2K. Absolutely moronic bet even if it is 99% guaranteed.

But why when the thought is he's just gonna be cut.

1. Absolute dick move by Verse and the Browns.
2. Is the word Gabriel is getting cut? What about the guy they just drafted? Aren't all 19 of those numbers taken by QBs on the Browns?

Quick thoughts:
The Ravens are overrated.

The Patriots are a huge question mark. Vrabel's marital woes are more likely than not to distract him. They also had the easiest schedule in the league last year, including a cake walk to the SB once Nix went down.

Of course i wasn't in the room, but i believe the reports. Great player, seems like a nice enough dude, but NOT a leader whatsoever. He was more aloof than anything else.

Jerod Verse, seems like the complete opposite. He was practicing the day after he was traded. Doesn't act like he's gotta fill Myles' shoes, but rather be himself. He actually reminds me of the nasty Steelers LB's over the years, Highsmith, Harrison, etc. Tough SOB, thats more of a boar hunter than pork eater like Myles.

Trade buzz around Sanders?

If I'm Cleveland, the Cardinals make a lot of sense as a trade partner, but only IF I do not think Sanders is "the guy". Cards need help at QB badly and should have high picks next year. I'll bet Cleveland could get a third rounder out of them and still have 13 QBs on their roster.

I saw an article elsewhere that this cut causes the Lions some cap issues. Not sure how true that is? I think if a player commits a crime, particularly a violent felony, their contract should be null and void. Additionally, the team should get relief from that player's entire contract towards the salary cap.
