You joke, but there has to be something to that, right? Why else ask for the rule change? I wonder if they felt hamstrung by the Watson trade when Houston had their picks? Not because they clearly didn't do their due diligence on him, but because they wanted to make more moves, but were out of picks to trade.

Yeah, I understand the desire to give up, say 2026, 2028, 2030 1sts, rather then 2026, 2027, 2028.
