Some months ago, we learned that former Tax Exempt Organizations honcho Lois Lerner generates an intense bio-electric field that causes every hard drive that comes anywhere hear her to crash and lose all its data, something that never seems to happen to hard drives outside the government any more, but verily the Age of Obama is an age of wonders. Lerner's mutant hard-drive crashing powers supposedly wiped out a ton of electronic correspondence relevant to the scandal.

They elect Democrats who try to accomplish complex policy goals, then turn around and elect Republicans when things don't work perfectly. They say they hate gridlock, then elect people who will give them more of it.

"Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Gruber said. "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass."

When the press release was brought to Pelosi’s office’s attention on Thursday, aides indicated she does not know him – as she does not know everyone they have cited on their website.

I thought wrong. The White House and Congressional Democrats let their opponents define the law. And those opponents did a superb job of developing and implementing a communications strategy to turn the public against what they decided to call "Obamacare." That campaign has been so successful it has almost completely obscured the fact that the law actually benefits each and every one of us.

I can only guess that Obama's team was persuaded that a lack of transparency, even about the good the law does, would be better than going to the trouble of trying to explain it.

The State Department's network was infiltrated last month, but the department did not disconnect the affected systems until the weekend, according to federal technology information website nextgov.com. It said there was abnormal activity in the email system as recently as late October.

A few months ago, the federal government created a national marketing program to advertise the virtues of real Christmas trees. It’s funded by a 15-cent surcharge that will be added to the cost of each tree sold.
