Looking at the 3 dozen eggs I currently have in the fridge, I am regretting expanding my flock at this time. When they are all fully armed and operational I'll be getting 7 or 8 eggs every day.
Time to post a sign in the yard selling eggs.

I'm not sure how the township would feel about that. I am also not sure if I want to deal with the public in a retail capacity. :-)

My chickens were guaranteed to be delivered to me by 3 o'clock today. Last thing on USPS tracking shows they were checked in to Cleveland yesterday afternoon. I have a feeling I am going to be delivered a box of dead chickens when they eventually get here.

They heard you bitching about your egg excess.

My guaranteed next day delivery has been sitting in Cleveland for over 24 hours, now. Earliest possible arrival is now tomorrow morning. I don't know how long baby chicks last in the mail.

Fuck, I just figured out the chicken farm is only 90 miles away from me. I could have just gone and picked them up.

Did you order the Furyan hybrids?

Did that with a record once. Bastards were 15-20 minute drive but I never quite put it together.

Post office called me this morning at 6am , they had a box with my phone number on it peeping at them.

I had to teach them how to eat this morning. I think they hatch, the people flick the remaining egg shells off their feathers, and they get stuffed in a box to subsist on the yolk remaining in their gut for a couple days.

That would be the way to keep costs down, as long as it's safe.

All 6 are still functioning adequately.

So all is well, the chicks are two weeks old now, and they are ornery cusses. I forgot how fast they are to foul their water as soon as you put fresh stuff in, little idiots.

Anyway, I need to think of words for a sign...

Image

See those two upright posts behind the hen house? Seems like a perfect place to mount a sign. Something like "DTManor Chicken Farm," but that's kind of dull and lame.

I thought a sign that said merely, "Guess what?" would be hilarious, since the obvious answer is "Chicken Butt," but I might get tired of looking at that joke ten times a day. Again, that's my view out the picture window.

So give me some good names for the chicken farm and maybe I'll engrave one and stain it and stuff.

"GORDON's Home For Future Dinners"

"House of Peckers"

"Cock Farm"

"Nugget Storage"

"Chicks out for Harambe"

"WARNING: Naked Chicks"

Gordon's egg-producing organs? Oops, sorry. Not specific enough. External egg-producing organs.

So there's there's been this Arby's commercial all over TV and radio, talking about their meat, how they possess a lot of it, and how big and plentiful it is, and how nobody would be dumb enough to open a chicken filet place.

This commercial has been making me chuckle for about a week.

Then today I realized...

Yes.

The sign over the hen house will say "Chickentown."

What are random foods I could add an egg to, and it wouldn't be noticeable?

I'm about to cook some hamburger helper cheesy macaroni for dinner.... can't cook a homemade 4-course EVERY night.... and I am wondering if an egg would be noticeable.

I think my mom added an egg to hamburger meat for hamburger patties to help hold them together.

The wife says of the cheesy mac, "this seems cheesier, did you add cheese?"

I told them I added an egg, and I expected spittakes, but they were fine.

I was thinking about adding one to burg, but that adds a step to making burgs. Typically I just grab a chunk off the pile and patty it. With an egg I'd have to mix. Exhausting.
