That does suck. I haven't had to sit in a queue since Sunday. Are you just grinding quest right now? That was the most boring part, for me.

Stranger - want to get your trade pack made today and bring it to TC? Can give you a lift to the trade docks tonight.

i know Leisher, he's a completionist and i know for a fact he is doing every single quest there is. Come to think of it.. I don't think he's even left Lilyut hills yet. Everytime i've looked at the map he was somewhere in that portion of the map. Get out and explore, live a little! :D

I'd love to do this, can't promise when or if i'll be on though. Things are pretty busy for me through the weekend, but you can bet i'll try and be on as much as possible. You guys just make sure you're using my farms.

I am grinding quests and it is boring.

i know Leisher, he's a completionist and i know for a fact he is doing every single quest there is. Come to think of it.. I don't think he's even left Lilyut hills yet. Everytime i've looked at the map he was somewhere in that portion of the map. Get out and explore, live a little! :D

I am a completionist, but I'll be honest and tell you that I've skipped every bit of the story here. I have zero interest in it. I'm not watching cut scenes, and I'm not reading what people are saying. It's just a mess to me. I think trying to have a single player story line in a MMO is really quite stupid.

For example: You're given a mission to kill "Commander Buttfuck", so off you go to do what needs to be done to save the world. When you arrive at Commander Buttfuck's location you stand around with a dozen other people on the same quest and each time Commander Buttfuck spawns, once every 2 minutes or so, everyone melts his ass and whomever gets the last hit finishes the quest.

How does one get immersed in that?

So all I'm doing is grinding levels and trying to make money by hitting every mission I can find.

I've got to say that I'm level 15 or so now, and I don't think I've learned much about the game play via these quests. For all the hand holding they do, they sure do leave a lot for you to discover on your own.

And I'd leave where I am, but for what purpose? I can't hang with you guys in PvP. I assume I need to get to some point for my "trade quests"? There's nothing out there pulling me away from the quests at the moment.

Just let me keep grinding and I'll catch up with you guys soon.

The story does suck, and the main quest line is super short you are at a high enough level to finish it right now. I know you like the story to games, but this game isn't about that, you make your own story. Personally the only thing the quests are good for is getting better gear right now. I basically look for the side quests that give me the rewards that i can choose what weapon or armor i want. Those quests are totally worth it and give you all the gear you need for the early to mid game.

I've added you as a family member so you are free to use our farms, i'm sure we have all the resources you need to do the first three trade quests no problem. Being F2P you should be taking advantage of that shit. The only thing you can't do is own land or a farm, but you don't need that we are well on our way to having plenty of farm for all of us. Your labor points will be a problem if you want to get into crafting but even with that we've got that covered and we can give you labor potions.

Also, i'm not sure why you think you can't travel with us to PvP areas. An extra man travelling with us is just a bonus (and more intimidating to any potential enemies). You will get better xp and gold by participating with us anyways so you mights as well do it.

Leisher, just a few things I've noted that could help you out. The trade quests are a green plant above the NPC's head, not and exclamation point like the rest of the quests.

When you say you're standing around 30 other people waiting to kill "Commander ButtFuck", it's not about who gets the last hit, it's who got the FIRST hit on them actually. Whoever initially agro's the guy, will get the kill. As soon as you get to ANY area that requires you to kill things, or kill one dude, immediately open up your community tab (I think thats what it's called?) down in the bottom right corner, and then click Raid in the submenu. Then just click radius invite, and watch the magic happen ;D . . The game will basically add every person standing around you in that area to a RAID group, which is essentially a PVE quest party. That way, you don't even have to worry about being the first to hit somebody, as long as someone in your RAID group was the first to hit him, everybody in that RAID will get the credit. Also works for when you have to kill 10 of Commander ButtFuck's soldiers, or slay 12 undead and collect something really dumb from each kill. For me, it will take maybe 2 minutes to finish a quest that has you killing 20 different guys in one area, you basically just form that RAID party, sit back and watch everyone else do the work for you, then disband the RAID as soon as the quest is done and go back and collect ;D . .

Try paying for Patron. They've got a $15 one month package, and a few other deals for 3 and 6 months where the price drops substantially (as with any other MMO), that way you don't have to spend $20 like everyone else did to buy the coins or whatever and buy that stupid APEX thing. If you're a monthly subscriber, you get Patron. I'm glad I did it, because I never have to wait in queues anymore, even during the high population hours.

I think that was it. . . . If I think of anything else that can help you out, I'll throw it out there. If you ever have questions about anything, you can always message me or just hop in TS3 and ask. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, we'd all be more than happy to answer questions and help out.

I know you like the story to games, but this game isn't about that, you make your own story.

That's like telling a NASCAR driver to press down on the gas pedal to go.

Personally the only thing the quests are good for is getting better gear right now.

That, leveling, and cash. They certainly don't teach you anything about actual game play. I mean, I've learned NOTHING about the game via these quests.

I've added you as a family member so you are free to use our farms, i'm sure we have all the resources you need to do the first three trade quests no problem.

And eventually I will get to them...I assume? The story line I'm in this go around seems far slower than the Asian one.

Also, i'm not sure why you think you can't travel with us to PvP areas. An extra man travelling with us is just a bonus (and more intimidating to any potential enemies). You will get better xp and gold by participating with us anyways so you mights as well do it.

So just ignore all the quests (equipment, XP, gold) and the trade stuff and head to you guys?

The trade quests are a green plant above the NPC's head, not and exclamation point like the rest of the quests.

Those are more or less important? Because I've done a few and they were about planting shit.

When you say you're standing around 30 other people waiting to kill "Commander ButtFuck", it's not about who gets the last hit, it's who got the FIRST hit on them actually. More information about this than anywhere within the actual game. they should have hired you.

Try paying for Patron.

They have done nothing to earn my cash. Not trying to pick a fight with anyone who loves this game, but I'm not there yet.

Being that none of us are REALLY ready for PvP, having you with us can only help. Numbers will count. But even questing with someone else is better than questing alone. It's too bad Scooty went human, otherwise you guys could quest together. But, enough about questing. Just rush the green ones. Ignore the yellow ones. Get the Gilda Stars and your trade quests going. Now that I have my farm, I don't know that I'll ever have to do another quest again. But then again, I think a trade run is pretty much a quest. . . but, I say who, I say when, I say how much. Sort of. But, they are wAY WAY more profitable than regular quests. You can farmville, and make money. Point is. . . now that I'm off the quests, the game is much more fun. Even if I lose in the PvP areas, I'm still not losing anything, but I'm learning something. So, when I am bigger and better, I'll have the mechanics down.

I don't mind the game because I don't mind the farmville part. The PvP is ok because it is very team oriented. The economy is meh, but I haven't even started crafting anything. My prediction for the future of the game is people trying to do trade runs across the water, and people trying to stop them. We can try to stop the reds from completing theirs, or we an go pirate and stop everyone. I expect a lot of green on green combat too. So, guild warfare kind of thing. I dunno. To early to know for sure. But, most of the people playing this game, I bet, still don't want to PvP, but will go into the PvP zones for riches. I guess we could protect them, but for what? The game mechanics pretty much force pirating. You are either being pirated on (as a severe disadvantage) or pirating (much less to lose). But, over all, I see potential for us to do something here. Just have to get off the questing teet.

Actually the story is really fast.. seriously, it only takes like 2 hours if you really went hard at it. Also, the main story only takes you to a few of the places on the western continent. You never even go to White Arden and thats a PvP free zone, and it doesn't even take you to any of the PvP zones..

The first part of the game was us just trying to get a place for our houses and farms, that part is done. Then we needed to expand and gather more resources, for the most part that is where we are right now but we are towards the end of that phase we just need to keep farming our resources and building our houses and such. Then we will be building the boat (already done!) and we can start trying our hands in trade runs and exploring PvP areas.

So even if you're on and none of us are you can go the the farms and harvest whatever is done, cut trees, replant other stuff, this also gives you XP. There is plenty you can do besides just quests, go to the mines and get some stones, or just look for some random trees to cut down, we will always be able to use lumber. As long as you have opened the quest with the green plant (yes, at first they just make you plant potatoes and shit) but keep following it and you will get your first trade quest. You can see what we have to help you with that, it just needs grapes and trimmed meat.

I still think its important to find the quests that give you gear though.. If you never tried to do those then you will be severly gimped in any fights we may have, so always keep an eye out for those.

Do your green quests to earn the gilda for a house/farmhouse/boats/etc. Do the green plant quests to get your trade runs/large farm done. Your farm for resources will be how you earn your living. Sure, you can do yellow quests for gold/xp, but you get hardly anything for them. I level up quicker mining than I do running quests. Yes, you level up while mining, and it increases your combat skills as you go up levels. You get XP while farming. You get XP for pretty much anything in the game. So, you don't have to quest for it. Just like UO, I think the real money will come from crafting though. Not sure how, but, I do. But anyway, you miss nothing by skipping the yellow quests. Well, except the one that gives you your glider. But get that later. Get your farms, get gold, join the party.

For now, he doesn't need gear. Remember when I was rushing Taran? I was getting all kinds of gear, but ignored it. Didn't need it. Didn't care. I was join raids and even the hard monsters were done with little to no effort. Hit "ok" and move on. Don't need gear until you are in combat. But that comes later. This is kind of like the 'pushing the stick' time. You have to level up, get your infrastructure built, THEN the game opens up. And by then, you should have an income stream where you buy goods instead of questing for them if you want.

I am to the point where I can start selling the game to my wife, and if she buys in. . . . we'll never want for anything. :-) Getting the large farm was key.

I wish I hadn't given all of my wood to Stranger so he could build his house. Instead, I wish I had it so I could finish my large farm, to make more wood. Houses are stupid.

Yesssss.

One of these days we need to get enough people online and make a guild. There is already a large guild named Vindication (that we've already ganked and screwed over monetarily)

Sounds like we're gonna need a new guild name.

I suggest "YOLO 420 Pizza SWAG"

I'm leaning away from TKV because I don't know how 'virtuous' we're going to be. Too early to tell how the good vs evil thing is going to play out. Being a pirate, you get lots of loot and rewards. What do you get being a good guy? In UO, it was very easy to pick sides and have fun on each one. In fact, being a bad guy had stiffer penalties. But with this game, I don't see a strong deterrent to being a pirate. And I don't see a strong reward system for being a good guy.

Pirate - Attacks other boats, and when they win, they get mad loot.
Anti-Pirate - You attack the pirates and win allowing the trade runner through to his goal and earn his rewards. You get. Nothing.

I think the guild name should be:
