Phillip Seymour Hoffman

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Someone liked riding the H-train.
Sources say about 50 baggies of heroin were found in the actor’s apartment — some of them were full and others empty.

Goddamn.

Is that a lot? I mean, doesn't it depend on the size of the bag?

Besides, is an empty bag of heroin still a bag of heroin at all?

No smackhead I've ever known kept fifty bags on site unless he was a seller. Then again, none of them were celebrities. Probably saving for the apocalypse or something.

Let's conservatively assume that each bag had 1g of street-grade heroin. 50 grams is a bit less than 2 ounces. If you pull a Layne Staley-type isolation, you can go through a few grams a day. But that only lasts for so long before you eventually misjudge the dose. That rate of use you keep you permanently penned up for twenty-four hours without much trouble. You might be borderline functional mentally, but physically you'd be out of it.

The fact he did it made him a dumbass.

The fact that he had 3 young kids makes him a scumbag.

The fact he didn't finish his Hunger Games scenes first makes him a monster.

+++

Also.... he made 6 ATM visits right before he died to get money for drugs? Was he even THINKING about all those ATM fees????

Verdict: Speedball, albeit with ingredients mixed internally, plus some bonus prescription anti-anxiety and sleeping meds.
Hoffman, 46, who was found Feb. 2 with a needle in his arm on the floor of his Manhattan apartment, also had taken amphetamines and benzodiazepines, which are drugs such as Xanax and Valium that are widely prescribed for anxiety, trouble sleeping and other problems, said a spokeswoman for the medical examiner. The death was ruled accidental.

WTF?!? Accidental? That's like saying, "A man sped round a curve on Pike's Peak today. The road was dangerously icy, visibility was reduced to near zero, and there was no guardrail. Additionally, forensic examiners have confirmed the driver, for unknown reasons, was transporting a fully grown adult tiger in his back seat with no cage or safety equipment. Authorities are calling the death accidental."

What a dick.

He couldn't cover college or even give them a safety net?
Hell, buying them a car and a modest house puts them in a great position for the rest of their life.

Cut him some slack. He was a drug addict. And he killed himself doing drugs. Great decision making skills weren't his strong suite.

Admittedly, he gave the money to their mom. I mean, they are probably still provided for just fine.

That's not helping his case.

Although, if she's the mom, I'm sure they'll get something.
