Jamie Foxx and this dude (the Doc) shoot slavers for fun and profit (literally).
The Doc partners up with Django after getting him loose because the latter knows the whereabouts of dudes the former is seeking out so he can kill them and collect the reward. After the screenwriter realizes he can only get so much out of that, the story switches direction as the two track Django's wife, who's been sold to DiCaprio (who I will forever call "the kid from 'Growing Pains'").
There are cameos galore, from the original Django to one of the chicks from "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" to Walton Goggins (the dude from "The Shield"). There are also some enormously funny lines. "What's the point in having a goddamn German-speaking slave if I can't wheel her out when a German's visiting?" Oh, that's another trend.
It's almost as if Quentin's apologizing for demeaning the Germans in the Basterds. The villain there is one of the heroes here. He's the only white dude that treats blacks humanely. He's polite to a fault. Also of note is that the slave-owning whites are portrayed as caricatures. DiCaprio's performance goes so over the top at a few places, it's impossible not to laugh.
There is also the obligatory Samuel L. Jackson role and his prolific use of the word "motherfucker" along with a copious amount of violence.
Enjoyable, but fucking 2h 45m long. Goddamnit, can anyone make a movie under two hours anymore?

Good film. Hard to watch at times because of the brutality.
I also think there were two moments in the story that were gaping flaws in character and logic.
Still, it was very, very entertaining. Every actor in the film brought their A game.
Highly recommended.
