Tooth and Nail

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

One of the "8 Movies to Die For" series from Horrorfest. (Not sure which year, I'm guessing this is the new batch.)

This is an indy, so I'll cut it a bit more slack.

Hey look, it's Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones! They don't even get top billing! Seriously, both are in the film, but I'd say Vinnie got the better deal here as in both screen time and...well, let's just say, he got the better deal.

This movie is about life on Earth, or just Philadelphia, after the apocalypse. Oh, just for the record, running out of gas in 2012 ended the world here. (No, I don't really get it either.)

So, this group of "good guys" are living in a hospital and for some reason, they all have nicknames like Darwin, or Viper. They soon come across a group of "bad guys" called Rovers and rescue a girl from them.

Now the Rovers come at night to hunt them one by one. Why hunt them? For the food! Yes, Vinnie (c'mon, you know he's not the good guy) and the gang hunt people for food and eliminate them one by one each night. Why one by one? So the meat stays fresh, of course.

The good guys are the ultimate hippie liberals and don't put up much of a fight at all. They could not have portrayed these people as bigger pussies. Even when told of the Rovers plans for them, they do nothing to defend themselves.

Things come together in a decent progression later on, with a nice little trick to offset the obvious mismatch in sides too.

Nothing too stupid here, but nothing out of this world fantastic either. If you're into giving some indy films a shot, it's not the worst rental.
