DTF St. Louis (HBO MAX)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

DTF St. Louis (HBO MAX)

Post by TheCatt »

Two middle-aged dudes are a little bored in their marriages. One has money issues, the other is a local TV weatherman. They become besties! Then one dies (murdered?). Then there are several episodes about what really happened. In theory there's an app named DTF St. Louis for local hookups, but it doesn't really seem to factor much into the show, imho.

I'm halfway through. It's interesting. Story is told from different perspectives. Each person has their own flavor of events, story is told non-linearly, etc. So you have to figure out what really happened, maybe they reveal it in the end, I dunno.

It feels like a show where you have to pay close attention. Hopefully that bears out in the finale.

Despite the insane name, I'm tempted to check it out.

Wait, so when I read the thread title as "Down To Fuck", I was right?

Give us an update on how you feel after the finale.

Yes.

So far it's very interesting. A little slow at some points, but interesting.

This was a really interesting, well told story. Would I recommend it? Does the end hold up? Man, I just don't know. Layers of an onion that slowly get peeled back. Interesting premise, characters... Ah I just don't know.

The ending was simply unsatisfying given all the build-up. I mostly predicted it 3 episodes earlier. But the story, acting, writing, etc were really, really good.

This show was not sexy. Did it have a FEW sexy moments? Yes. Does it deserve to be on ANYONE's list of sexy tv shows? NO! I read some article that included it, and man, people DO NOT KNOW what sexy is. This show is mostly a warm view on two men's bromance. Oh, with a penis in like literally every episode.

This show was VERY well written, VERY well acted. Unique/interesting/different. The ending was kinda mid. One quite notable thing after trying to watch a Netflix series after this series: You have to actually watch the show. You can't have it on in the background, you can't have your phone with you. You actually need to WATCH it.
