Zach (the odd looking Dane DeHaan) is a normal kid whose girlfriend Beth (Aubrey Plaza) just died. However, during a visit to her house, he sees her walking around inside. This is a zombie movie, but different. The zombies come back normal, and slowly revert to super powered flesh eaters.
This is a dark comedy, but don't expect belly laughs. There are some chuckles, but no one liners or zany situations. The laughter is more about the ridiculousness of the situation.
John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon play Aubrey's parents who refuse to acknowledge the reality of their daughter's condition. Paul Reiser and Cheryl Hines are the guy's parents. Anna Kendrick is also here in a bit, yet central role.
It was cute, but dumb. Definitely a different take on the genre, but not a must see.
