I'm just expecting we'll all keep getting gently screwed in the ass by our wealthy overlords and the politicians who keep selling us out to them. And that voting can not have any concrete effect on whether we keep getting screwed in the ass or not because all you are choosing with your ballot is which of the politicians will get paid for selling you out.

I do think that there's a bright future ahead where people aren't screwed in the ass against their will, maybe sometime in the next 40 to 50 years or so as our society finishes the shift away from a scarcity-driven economy to an entertainment-driven economy. But anything we do now in terms of voting will have no more impact on our lives than who wins the Superbowl will.
I meant and should have typed "be prepared to hunker down".

You're outlook is far more optimistic than mine.

Gary Johnson's hail mary. It blows my fucking mind.
The new ad spending is the first indication of where Johnson is hoping to compete in the coming weeks. The former New Mexico governor’s campaign is spending $806,195 this month on radio ads in Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Wisconsin, according to a media buying source.
Radio? Are you shitting me? That's a great way to win voters ... if you're in the fucking '30s or '40s.
The campaign also is spending money on digital billboards as part of its advertising push, said Johnson campaign spokesman Joe Hunter. Additional advertising is expected through Labor Day, bringing the total spending to at least $1 million, he said.
He's tossing in something modern, albeit the least effective form he could find.

It sounds like they may be thinking they can convert some of the right-wing radio audience away from Trump. I don't think that's going to work.

There's supposed to be an age where you realizes that the amount of knowledge in the world is astounding, and more than you'll ever come close to, etc.

Apparently you're still 15.

There's also supposed to be age when you realized most of the "knowledge" in the world is deadweight encumbrance that has to be discarded before you can get to the really useful bits. Mainly because it was filtered through shitheads over time that missed the point.

I find those 2% a little refreshing. The world is full of people who just need to chill the fuck out. I'm getting tired of relentless negativism or criticism, particularly over stupid little things.

We need a like button.

Both candidates are insanely unpopular and the numbers keep getting worse.

In other news, good riddance.

Either way he needs Florida. I don't see him beating Mrs. Bill there. Why? Because this is the least trainwrecky thing he's said in forever, and it's still stupid.
Donald Trump unveiled his plan Wednesday for boosting defense spending and rebuilding the military, while calling for a new strategy to defeat the Islamic State, as part of a renewed focus by his campaign on national security.
He wants to open up a new war on terror (which inevitably ends up being a war on common sense) on ISIS. Because we have sterling records of going over there, cleaning house, and stabilizing a region. Like when we went and cleaned out al-Qaida so future terrorist organizations like ISIS wouldn't be encouraged and democracy could flourish. Where would the cash for that come from?
Trump said that the increase in spending would come from cuts in waste and streamlining bureaucracy.
So, Trump's going to resign?

Right now he's still got quite the uphill climb. I think it'll take a huge terrorist attack or a huge economic crash before the election to turn things.
