Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Stark: We need to let the government tell us what to do.
Rogers: You do remember that "the government" was the one that didn't have a lot of faith in us and launched a nuke at New York while we were still there, right?
Stark: You really need to trust my judgment on this one.
Rogers: In an attempt to create the perfect AI guardian for mankind you instead created an AI that tried to eliminate all of humanity. So I think you can understand why I may have some issues trusting your judgment.
Stark: Shut up, whore!

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
The end, close thread.
But I do like how his character has had an arc... if this attitude change had come out of nowhere, it would be retarded.
In Iron Man, he's a libertarian with a conscious.
In IM2, he is a libertarian confronted by his mistakes, denies the government, and then fought by a libertarian with a grudge against him.
Avengers happens, shit goes down.
IM3, he has PTSD from Avengers.
Avengers 2, Scarlet Witch fucks with his mind, shows him his secret fears that his actions will bring a "higher form of war" to Earth, and he will personally fail to win and everyone dies.
So now in Cap3, he is willing to submit to the might United Nations authority, he doesn't want to be the one calling the shots any more.
I really wonder where things go from here with him. Hopefully there is a redemption arc for him (why does he need a redemption? The U.N. SHOULD be in charge, individuals can't be trusted ~ boot licking Progressives).
++++++++++++++++++++
It is interesting that Steve Rogers's attitude seems to be, "Well, yeah, we ARE better than these organizations, and we SHOULD be autonomous to do the right thing, because we are the only people we can trust." Sounds an awful lot like he thinks he and his crew should be in charge.

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
I think the letter Cap sent him at the end might just represent Stark being jolted back to more independent thought about powers and how to deal with them. I mean, it was essentially Cap's viewpoint getting the final say in the film. Isn't that technically him winning?

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
I thought it was Cap winning. Stark doesn't have too many left on his side at this point. I think going through the dimensional rift in Avengers I made him a pussy.

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Clearly his life is falling apart with Pepper leaving him and all these challenges/changes in his belief system.
I think Iron Man 4 could get really interesting and would make an excellent gateway into Phase 2 or 4 or whatever they're heading into post Infinity War.

The Pepper break up thing seemed a little "couldn't negotiate the contract" forced plot element.

But it plays perfectly with his character arc.
By the way, I've heard her missing from the film might also have a bit to do with her personality...

Maybe she wouldn't have broken up with him if he weren't such a dick.

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Good movie, felt a bit jerky in the beginning, but a great middle/ending.
That being said: If we had just killed Bucky earlier... hey, fewer people die, and this movie doesn't exist.

Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Captain America is no more...confirmed.
Don't look too far into this as Cap has walked away from that name on more than one occasion in the books. Where they take it is what could get interesting, but probably won't.
The film Cap could take one of his alter egos, like Nomad. He could also wield the "virtual" shield that was energy based.
and/or
A new character could take over the shield, which could lead to all sorts of possibilities. The problem there is that the two guys who have done so in the books and are the most likely, Bucky and Falcon, are with Cap.
So what I think will happen, especially since I believe the next movie is Infinity War, is Tony will give Cap the shield back in a symbolic move as they fight Thanos.

I don't think eliminating him in the present would completely negate the film. He did kill Stark's parents decades ago.If we had just killed Bucky earlier... hey, fewer people die, and this movie doesn't exist.

How about a Hispanic? My kids need a role model
It's not me, it's someone else.
Re: Captain America: Civil War (Spoilers)
Racist.
Hispanics are only 23% of the population. Black people are 12%. It's very clear which group deserves more representation at the box office. Black power!

They actually considered Rulk for the film.
Fuck that shit. They need to keep things from getting convoluted like the comics for as long as possible.
