I could argue all day that you're already required to do things you don't want to do that stifles your individualism and personal freedom.

I would agree. We're already way past that line. The U.S.A. is no longer about freedom and liberty and justice for all, if it ever was in the first place.

The older I get the more I recognize the government is set up to control. It doesn't MIND helping the citizens, when it happens... but that isn't its primary purpose.

It never has been. It's always been completely about letting the few control the many.

Back to Barbie...
I think we're more likely to see this headline in a few months: "Matel Discontinues Curvy Barbie Due to Weak Sales; America Don't Want No Fatties"
Survey says... Curvy Barbie was a flop. Of course, it depends whose numbers you want to focus upon... Other, left leaning, sites claim sales skyrocketed immediately (it was released about a month prior to the linked article). They're right, but Barbie has a huge collector market. Meaning it was more likely them than SJW parents. The massive drop in sales after that initial shock proved Barbie's "unrealistic" body isn't really what's driving sales down.

They do go up again near the holidays, but they're back down big again in Q1 2017.

It's because kids don't really play with toys anymore, imho.

Meanwhile, someone did a mock up of obese Barbie that resulted in comedy.

Holy shit is this funny:
And MaryBeth Gafford said: 'The triple chin is too much. Most overweight people (me included) only have a double chin no matter what size they are. This Barbie is inaccurate.'
Ha!

Then there are the ones that induce a double take as you wonder if a human being can really be this stupid:
And Lindsay Keg-leg Kahlig commented: '[The] average [dress] size these days is 14-16. A doll that shows real life perspective, rather than the ideal unhealthy weight like 0 or unhealthy negative display of obese is a better more healthy approach [sic].'

No, not that bad. And don't make me post a Bridgette Everett image to prove you wrong/torture you. Hmm, I wonder if she'd cross state lines to give you a lap dance on your 50th...
