Cakedaddy and I fired it up last night. Can only set it to a max res of 640x480, which kind of sucks, but I think it has some great gameplay.
It would be a waste for us to not give it a try.
It's from 1997, so it doesn't take much of a machine to run. A flight stick IS required, though.

I don't want to waste this opportunity to show you how to fly. I still think I can whoop up on you. It does sound like a good idea. As long as I do not have any problems getting it to work.

I'd rather play with T&A too, but I do have an hour between when I get home and when my wife gets home.

Not if I'm playing.
Although, I still think it would be fun to team up with people here and hit Zone and own. TA with broadband and voice chat? Yummy. Problem is, everyone on Zone knows cheats and they use them. And that's too bad, cause team based TA is some of the most fun I had with TA.

Nobody seems to enjoy TA when Randy and I are in the game.
We've forgotten more TA tactics than most peeps ever learned.

We just don't know how to cheat. So we lose alot on Zone now.

I remember doing ok early on. I even remember employing a tactic or two against Cake in a heads up match that hadn't been done before (at least we hadn't seen them yet).
Then somewhere along the line Gordo and Cake became Jedi in TA. I blame my love for playing every game that comes down the pike and their zen like focus on a single game at a time.
TA = Total Annihilation Easily the most underrated RTS in the history of gaming. Possibly the best RTS ever made.
Level 5 is a historic level for me. One of my all time greatest gaming memories occured on that level.

It all went down hill for you guys when I discovered the Maverick. Now that I am a master of resource management, I don't even have to be creative. I can simply over run whith superior manufacturing capacity.

I absolutely believe that.
15 minutes into a game and I'll still have resource problems.

Maybe you're that good, maybe you are not. I'll try it, but I'll probably suck at it. With these types of games, I usually dont have the right stuff to play them on the computer.
I'm pretty busy, but I can usually find some time.

If on the off chance anybody actually reloads this game and wants to multi, I'll write a brief tutorial.
Hearing Cake say he absolutely sucks compared to me... and it isn't like I practice a lot, or anything, makes me think perhaps some of the subtler ship controls aren't known.
Power realigning, shield adjustment, velocity matching, fire cross-linking, stuff like that that I am constantly adjusting through the game.

I still have my CD in the rack. I'll see if Vista pukes on it. Tried loading Homeworld, and Vista didn't like where it was trying to stick files.

I'm digging it up. Maybe next week. I bought a fancy joystick early last year and haven't have a chance to use it yet, so this sounds good.
