Got this on 'Flix & watched it uninterrupted for the first time in a decade. Holy fuck, this movie still rocks. Quite simply one of the finest action flicks put to film. Sylvester almost convinces you he can act, too, during his rambling, blathering speech at the end. 'Course, that could also be just cos he didn't know his lines that well. Either way, it worked.

Verdict : 4 stars.

Any bets on how long this has before someone remakes it?

I'll go with 20 years.

That'll be long enough for Stallone to know he can't pull off Rambo and he'll settle for playing the Colonel.

I watched the Rambo trilogy in a row a few months ago. I was telling Cakedaddy then how good the first film was, and he just laughed at me.

He was disappointed that there wasn't a love scene when Rambo was thrown in to jail...

Peeps always say Brian Dennehey/Sheriff Teasle was the villain of the movie. Small town cop gets all hardass on a guy passing through.

I sez the person who really set Rambo off was this psycho, Deputy Galt. He was constantly a dick to everyone, violently, physically abusive to a prisoner, and even threatened the life of the helicopter pilot because he couldn't control updrafts. "You keep this thing steady, or I swear to god I'll kill you."

He escalated every situation until there was violence and Rambo prolly would have just quietly spent the night in jail if Galt wasn't beating him with the baton from behind.

The main villain of First Blood.

Not a terrible take.
