Saw it for twenty bucks at Target, so I picked it up. I'm going to play it between finishing this last mission in SupCom, and waiting for Half Life: Ep 1 to arrive from amazon.com.
Hopefully this will be the grand conquer-the-galaxy-multi game I've always wanted....
Now I just need to find friends with time to multi.

It a thing you buy with money you get from your job.
And I'm still waiting for the SupCom multi'ing to start.

I'm not sure if I can do that until I get a dual core system.

Why? You really think I'm going to let you get a large force built that will tax your system?

Yeah. But it really does slideshow bad during battles. I usually have to pause to make commands and stuff.

Ok, back on topic.
Master of Orion II was, for a long time, considered the ultimate space 4x game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate). I think the dated graphics finally caught up with it, though.
MOO3 was just horrible and pissed everyone off. You had so little control over the game, and it was so automated, that I once spent an hour just hitting the "End Turn" button, and my race was doing just fine.
Galactictic Civilizations II is the true sequel to MOO2. This is almost exactly the same game, but updated.
And really, that is all the review I can think of. This game is MOO2, but updated.
