Overall the movie was visually stunning. I liked the use of color to tell different aspects of the story.
The acting and story were engaging but lagged at times. There were some pretty cool fight scenes but sometimes they were a bit over the top. It was better then your average Kung Fu flick almost on par with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I just felt it tried too hard sometimes.
Warning: If you don't like subtitles this movie has them.
All in all I give it 7 out of 10.
You could wait and rent it.

I was going to ask about subtitles.
I first saw Crouching Tiger on DVD... the first time I played it, I ran it in English. It was so well dubbed that I actually had no idea at the time that it had been subtitled in the movie theaters. Even after I found out, rewatching it... I'd swear they fimled it in English.

My brother-in-law has the DVD, so maybe we'll just check that out.

I'd give it a 5 out of 10. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but my rating is based on the fact that most people won't care for it.
It is visually stunning, but that's tempered by the plot which was overflowing with symblism.
The fights are cool, but ridiculously unrealistic.
I can only see film students and kung fu addicts loving this movie.

Great Flick! I am an admitted kung fu addict. I liked the story.
I watched it in both subtitle and dubbed. There was very little deviation between the two. Some movies aren't even close. Botherhood of the Wolf was one of those.

I thought a Chinese movie named "Hero" was just them trying to say "Hello."

I just saw a preview for another film in the vein of Hero and it reminded me of something I wanted to add to my review of Hero.
Moon is smoking hot.
That is all.
