I generally agree, but 2 nits:

1) one party being in the US on phone calls is defined as domestic for the purposes of which you speak legally, not semantics.
2) I do not fear that the U.S. is in decline. It's still the best country on Earth, and while it is changing, it's not pulling a France.

I think when historians look back at this time, they will talk about decline. Not of the US, though, rather of the "mass media." It's power is flagging rapidly, which is all for the best if you ask me.
