John Kerry refers to American servicemen as...
Geez, I guess it's all over. I just turned on the pc for the first time today, and it's everywhere, kind of. I haven't checked CNN or MSNBC yet. I can only assume they wouldn't ignore a statement of that magnitude, especially in an election year.

Well.................... ok. Studying hard and doing homework makes you smart, not doing so.... makes you a serviceman in Iraq.
I see his opinions haven't changed much since he talked about his brothers 30 years ago raping and pillaging through Vietnam, since, you know, they all did that. Just like how there are no educated, intelligent troops in Iraq right now.

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Kerry's response:
So he claims that he meant the President, and not the troops?
The President of Iraq.... or what? He mentioned someone being dumb and "stuck in Iraq." Though I guess it could be metaphorical for Bush's "quagmire."
I don't know.
Still a dick, I guess.
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did."

Something else I'm noticing today:
If you support the war in Iraq but never served, you're a chickenhawk. If you did serve, you're uneducated and ignorant. Either way, 'they' have dehumanized everyone with whom they disagree. I was once told that was a sign of insanity.
And this is currently front page of cnn.com. I'm fairly surprised.

OH!...OH!... there's evidence of this in today's very packpeddling statement!GORDON wrote:Something else I'm noticing today:

I think he is a cocksucking political opportunist who WOULD say something like that and mean it, so therefor he says I have mental health issues.
What a dick.

Yeah. If memory serves, during the presidential campaign he went for a photo op with some Marines on their lunch break. It backfired when the Marines jumped in his shit for being an asshole.thibodeaux wrote:Love the pic on the front page. Are those Marines?

God, the man is politically tone deaf.Leisher wrote:Kerry "kind of" apologizes.
If he'd have just sheepishly smiled and apologized to begin with and claimed he mispoke and he could see how bad it sounded, even I would have believed him.
As it is, he's a huge dick.

Holy Christ. I'm surprised the words could fit what w\ all the egos in the article.Leisher wrote:Kerry "kind of" apologizes.

So, he apologized. Which wasn't just front page news, but "Breaking news" on cnn.com. Give me a break.

Another completely overblown incident in a politically-over-sensitive world?
Apparently.
