Air travel is getting to the point where I'd almost prefer 9+ hours to drive to the cesspool as opposed to the 90 minutes of flight time + time devoted to bullshit security precautions that I have to spend. Then, I think about driving thru Iowa. Then, I usually get the plane ticket.

I used to take the train from Ann Arbor to Chicago. It wasn't too bad. Did they have anything from Ann Arbor to Toronto?
That is one thing I loved about Europe: Mass Transit.

I also like the 42 hour trips amtrak had trying to go from Detroit to D.C.

Good mass transit. Certainly won't find anything like that here in Michigan.

Driving to Canada was what your Uncle J and Aunt M did when they went to Toronto. I know someone here in town whose husband was an engineer. She goes to Chicago once a month for 10$.

Amtrak Seems to Suck

So yeah, booked my first ever Amtrak voyage for later this month.

Did it all online, yaddah yaddah.

Installed the app so I could pull the QR code up quick and be paperless. Like 30MB or something, standard app size.

Opened it. It said "Opening in Chrome."

What the fuck is taking up 30MB? Must be another government operation. Wonder if the app cost a billion dollars.
