Everybody I know agrees with that.... about half of them excuse Obama, though, because it isn't his fault.

There's one woman who is always just simply FURIOUS about how AWFUL our current Republican-dominated state legislature is. She posted this link today.
Some of the awful things include:
* ending federal unemployment benefits for 70,000 residents
* cutting back sharply on spending for public schools
* refus[ing] to expand Medicaid
* want[ing] to cut income taxes for the rich while raising sales taxes on everyone else
* repealed the Racial Justice Act
* rushing to impose voter ID requirements and cut back on early voting and Sunday voting
So, it's "farsighted" for the government to spend spend spend.
In January, after the election of Pat McCrory as governor, Republicans took control of both the executive and legislative branches for the first time since Reconstruction. Since then, state government has become a demolition derby, tearing down years of progress in public education, tax policy, racial equality in the courtroom and access to the ballot...

North Carolina was once considered a beacon of farsightedness in the South, an exception in a region of poor education, intolerance and tightfistedness. In a few short months, Republicans have begun to dismantle a reputation that took years to build.

Typically, this guy is able to discuss issues, and I've praised him previously for having an open mind willing to listen to other sides and debate things.
I responded to this rant and pointed out that he's correct that reverse racism doesn't exist. Racism is racism. I then explained how his definition is incorrect. Racism has nothing to do with who is in power, and that it's about biases based on beliefs. I pointed out how a certain skin type in power can make a society racist like South Africa, both then and now, but that white people aren't the only racists just because we're in power. I stated that if any man, no matter his color says he hates another man based on his color, that's racism. He doesn't get a pass because his skin doesn't match that of the president's. I also explained how the US government has three branches of government for checks and balances, and the president, while not a king, has power.
I then went back to work and waited for his inevitable response, but it never came. I looked, and my post wasn't there.
I emailed him about it because I was curious if he actually deleted it, and he hasn't responded back to me even though he's been online.
What level of delusion must one exist in to think they still have any credibility at that point? Does he look at himself in the mirror and think he's standing on some intellectually superior high ground? Does he not realize that he's the small minded idiot? He's the bigot?

I thought this was an obvious thing but I guess it is not, so here goes. There is no such thing as "reverse racism"!!! Every time I see someone post some damn meme about some poor white victim being the victim of some racists action, it makes me want to scream. Racism is based on the fact that those in power are white and those not in power are not, especially here in the United States. Before anyone points out that we have an African American as a President I would also like to point out that the President is not where the true power lies. The true power of the United States lies in the Senate, the Congress and the Supreme Court. Which I might also add are mostly white. Do not confuse random crimes for racism!!!
