But, TPR, there's 388 votes that cannot be explained!

Show me any process involving 120M people, much less 120K, that's only off by 388.

Maybe the Russians were running the polls in Detroit?

Russians wouldn't be caught dead in Detroit. At least not the ones with taste.

Any fraud is bad. I don't know if this qualifies, but apparently i's racist to investigate.

From what I've read elsewhere, the machines in Detroit suck, just like Detroit, and and broken piles of crap that shouldn't even be used, but Detroit has no money. Michigan is replacing them for the 2018 election. I'm guessing: Fraud 0, Incompetence / Shitty Technology 1

Even with the shitty machines I'm more inclined to trust their count of the votes than the manual count of the voters made by the poll workers. Even the shittiest of machines are usually more precise with numbers that the average person.

I agree that's likely. But I'd like to make sure we're right.

The more I'm reading on this the more I'm thinking it needs to be looked into. The people come in to vote. They are found in the rolls and checked off and given a paper ballot to fill out. Or if they aren't on the rolls they are given a provisional ballot that goes into a separate box. The ballot is scanned into the machine at that point. Even a mostly broke ass machine shouldn't be doing this. They are showing more votes than people checked in.

I could see busted machines not recording votes. I can't really see a busted machine making up scans of the OCR ballots.

Oh, sure, I agree it should be looked into. I'm just 95% confident the problem has more to do with someone being incompetent than someone cheating votes.

The weird thing is you'd think those types of check would be automatic, right?

Check the book: 100 people
Check the machines: 140 votes

Hmm.....

"Name?"
"John Doe."
looks up name
"Sign here"
signs
Hands OCR ballot

This is a little more involved than placing a check mark next to a name. Unless they federalized poll watchers / keepers or whatever they are called, I have a hard time thinking they could be that incompetent. Especially since both parties have reps there watching for exactly this sort of thing.

Don't know why it's that far off, but they need to figure it out.

Both parties still field a majority of poll workers that were afraid to be drafted at some point in their life. You must be well aware the extent to which this country is lagging behind on significant election reform. Do you think that need ends at the local level of a federal election?

That deportation is going to be rougher than the prison sentence. She's been here her whole life. Bummer.

Best part:
Far-right websites have seized on Ms. Ortega’s conviction as proof that Mr. Drumpf is right about rampant fraud and efforts by Democrats to steal the November election.

There is, however, at least one flaw in that story: Ms. Ortega was a registered Republican.

“She voted for Mitt Romney over Barack Obama in the 2012 election. In 2014 she voted for our current attorney general, Ken Paxton,” Mr. Birdsall said. “And guess what? He’s the one responsible for prosecuting her.”

Ms. Ortega is now in a Fort Worth jail awaiting transfer to a state prison. Her four children, ages 13 to 16, are being cared for by siblings and her fiancé, Oscar Sherman, 27, a trucker who said her arrest had scotched their plans to marry. The children’s fate is unclear. Mr. Sherman lacks legal custody; her siblings are still debating their options.
That seems extraordinarily harsh for someone who has no prior criminal record.

I can honestly say I want all illegal voting stopped regardless of party affiliation.
