So what do we do if fate and circumstance force some of our citizens into a life of aimless wandering? Anything?

Public assistance is okay. To make it comfortable is retarded. Soup lines were functional. Yeah, there was a stigma associated with it, but maybe that's not always a bad thing. Once upon a time there was a stigma attached to unwed teenage pregnancy, too.

Hmmm.

Some public assistance with some way to figure out if they can do public service work?

Stop taxing the shit out of your citizens and they will be much more likely to help each other when they need help.

Homelessness is not a probelm from the government to solve in America II, IMO.

I say set up colleges, give each person a free ride to college including dorm and basic meal service. Give them 4 years to finish a degree of their choice, making sure they acheive an associates within the first 3 years. After that, if you're still homeless without a job, deport your arse. Basically, you get 1 chance to f your life up to that point and we'll help. But you have to work for it. Both in classes and workstudy for college.

If High School wasn't so full of bullshit, we wouldn't have to pay to put people through college to be sure they know how to read and write.

Fix basic education first. Then see if you still need to put everyone through college.

Just inspired a new thread.

I'm going to agree with TPR here, but I can say that if we fix the basic education system then my homeless plan is functional.
