My first thought is HELL NO. My second thought, too. As far as I can tell the normal economic laws for health care have been torpedoed by health insurance companies as it is. The AMA has a monopoly on health care, and people often don't have a choice for what doctors they can use due to their health plans.
But, it becomes election year issues, eventually.
Should national health care be prohibited right in our constitution? But then doesn't that kill our "total freedom" thing?
National health care?
I might not have a problem with a national health care plan, aslong as it doesn't prohibit private plans (the way so many of them do today).
Maybe have a "voucher" system for it like they talk about for education. Of course, this would most likely kill the national health care system since they can't do anything as efficiently as the private sector.

The primary cause for expensive healthcare is having too much governmental regulation. It's estimated that most healthcare would cost 20% or less of what it does now with total deregulation.
Healthcare shouldn't be a problem for America II.
