This will be stickied, and I'll change it as info changes. We need to update this...

The "newbie" map

Locations:
I have a house west of Big Civ. Lots of resources nearby. Quick access to Big Civ. Close to the shortcut to Hacker Valley. Yet still out of the way enough that it'll be hard to find. I also think it might be possible to "secure" the mountain with well placed spikes. I'll post the location tomorrow. Forgot to get it before logging.

We should probably include a server link in front of every map link. Be a shame to make your way to the coordinates and find you're on the wrong server.

Good point, but the links I provided are for our "main" server.

Where's our stronghold going to be? That location above seems pretty remote.

Do you know what you just did to S2 and Buzz? They won't be back.

It has happened to us as well.

That's why we said we'd build something remote, and then something that will attract attention.

That stronghold currently in the list is temporary as it is wood. I'll be building a metal structure elsewhere soon. Once that's up, it should be treated as our "backup" base.

Then I'll build us a "we dare you to attack this" base. I'm thinking in the middle of French Valley.

Yeah, but I was able to do that to them because they built their house POORLY. There were only 2 metal doors and 1 wooden wall between me and their dead bodies. And because it was a wood house, I could just shine my flashlight through the cracks and find the dead bodies. I assume with metal that's no longer possible?

They can see through metal. Come up to the metal fortress and take a peek. Bring metal! :D

Yeah, Rust will probably come back.

I've been occasionally following the dev blogs. Sounds like they rebuilt the engine from the ground up and are only now getting basic game elements in. Still a ways off before another few weeks of insanity.

i noticed that steam was updating a game the other day and saw that it was for Rust. It was a rather large 700mb file, which i thought was odd. I have no idea what its for and maybe you guys already knew of this but i thought i'd point this out.

I know i didn't really play Rust much with you all but i do own this and Day-Z and maybe some day they will turn into something worth the time.

Seems like the proceduraly generated maps are coming along well. I can't make heads or tales of the rest of the changes and I haven't logged in to check out.

Yeah, it's the experimental stuff.

Just logged on and ran around for a few minutes while on a conference call with AT&T.

Really nothing to do. Feels more like an Alpha than ever before.
