Seem a little disorganized last night, wanted to put load outs for doing certain tasks here. I'll start with a suggestion for rad town, and will edit/update based on comments.

Load Out for going to Rad Town:
Principles:
1) Go light. You might die pvp or pve.
2) Try to make it through the whole place to maximize time.

Required:
Bandage - stop bleeding from zombie attacks. I carry 5
Food - helps with health, and lowers rad. Beans / rations in particular low rad).
Rad pills - Essential for making it through more than a couple of drops. 5 should be enough to make it through entire location.
Med Kit - Heals health. I carry 1 or 2.
Bow + Arrows - 1-4 arrows will kill any zombie. I carry 20 arrows.

Optional:
Hatchet - If you want to get resources otw
Rad clothing - Lowers rad exposure rate.
Gun + Bullets - In case of PvP.

SLEEPING BAGS.

I can't believe none of us thought about that simple thing. We could have lost a guy, pulled out a little bit, and reequipped him right there and continued on.

Thanks for this post Catt, that will help me out.

I was a little confused what to do when we got in there tho. Were we there to fight the zombies first then get loot? or just try and loot and run? It sure seemed like there were alot of zombies in there and i was taking rads at a very fast pace.

And is there an exit for that place in the back? because we jumped over some wall and it felt like we were trapped in there.

Also, is there a way to take all the loot you find in one fell swoop? because when the cargo dropped last night i had to drag and drop each piece of equipment individually and i felt like it took forever, i was just waiting for some gunshots.

A loot all button is one of the things frequently requested in the development forums.

There is no exit through the wall we jump over. Exits are on the other side (south), and west. Once you run through it a couple of times you'll find your way.

The two story buildings that have a door on 1 side are generally close to exits.

If you see a blueprint in our storage that you don't know, please go ahead and read it. If the BP is in there, someone else already knows it and is dumping it, so go ahead and free up the space.

The plan last night was to go down and kill people. But if no people, ignore the zombies and loot. But since no one knows their way around in there, that fell apart.

In my opinion, we need to practice PvP. We need to get weapons/ammo, etc and head way out somewhere. Way way out. Take sleeping bags. Lots of them. And then we shoot each other. We barely killed some animals, couldn't kill zombies, and we were hunting people?!?! Loot was actually secondary. Our goal was to find people and overwhelm them.

All Zombies are being taken out and replaced with something else with the next versions. Lot's of speculation, but nobody knows for sure what that will be.

Also something about locked backpacks.

I don't see how that could have been a goal without everyone having guns.

But, at any rate, the original post still applies for anyone who wants to do a loot raid on rad city.

My most successful Big Civ runs start from the south side of it. I stand next to a rock across the street from the entrance (road entrance), and just outside of the rad zone. I watch the front for zombie activity, then haul ass directly into that entrance. I hit the first building going left into the side room, then back and up the ramp. When I exit, I turn right back towards the street, and then cut right before the gate. This quickly takes you to the next building directly behind the first. Same thing inside.

Once looted, I then decide if I have the time to loot the next building based on rads, health, zombies, any humans, etc. If it's time to go, I run right back to the road entrance, and then right back to that rock.

I do it alone though, which means I'm not waiting for anyone or worried about anyone. Weapons aren't really needed because if I get challenged by a zombie, I just leave. If I do take weapons on my research server, I take a shotgun.
