Wasn't even aware of that... I mean when I get home, it is not connecting my my secure wifi AP that I already connected it to and told it to save the pword. As soon as I go into wifi settings and touch the AP again, THEN it connects. It should do it automatically.

I will look for that setting, though.

Hmm, yes, that should work automatically. Mine works fine, so no idea.

I was out and about tonight and at one place had a few minutes, so I found the setting.... it was already "on." I cycled it off/on anyway, and when I got home tonight, it auto-connected to my wifi and the bluetooth connected to the home phone base station.

Soooooo..... fixed?

Got my first bill.... $25, after tax, which ended up being about 20% since they are flat fees.

So woot.

Google Fi is now in open enrollment, and I would have saved $200 on my phone if I had waited 1 month, 20 days.

Complain. Google has pretty generous return policies.

They credited my account 20 bones. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, I guess.

I don't know if this is Google-centric, or Android-centric, or if I just never noticed the function before, but I can actually block phone numbers on my phone. Finally I am able to get those "extend the warranty on your vehicle!" and "hey you won a cruise!" calls to stop.

Weird happenstance today:

This morning in my driveway i said to my phone, "OK Google now, navigate me to Huntsville, Alabama" and I hit the road. It was all good, she welcomed me to each state, warned me about accidents, and gave good.driving instructions without sounding like a nagging bitch.

Anyway, soon after the craziness that is Nashville, I noticed navigation had stopped working. I tried some fixes while driving, but couldn't do shit. So I stopped for gas and took a good look..... somehow the phone was in airplane mode, all data streaming was turned off independently, and screen auto-rotate was disabled. Weird.

Well, 3 years later, I've got a problem. The new Google phone is expensive. I've saved a lot of $ over the past 3 years with Nexus phones + Ting/Fi. Hmmmm.

I bought the Pixel.

The preorder comes with a free preorder for the DayDream, the VR product. I'm not terribly keen on VR, but what the hell. For free, I'll try it out.

If I didn't already own 3 wireless routers in my house, I'd probably get a 3-pack of these wifi devices.

I sometimes want a free-range speaker device like the Amazon Echo or Google Home, but it's pretty convenient to just reach out to my phone and do the same stuff (with the added benefit of a screen).

I love the shot at pretentious naming taken with their color selections
Pixel comes in two sizes, 5” or 5.5”, and three colors: Very Silver, Quite Black and our limited edition for the U.S. only, Really Blue.

Yeah... it's not cheap. But what the heck. I've decided I want a snappier camera and stuff.
