I think my PC is crapping out. Tell me if I am wrong.
Since I moved to this SSD drive, I get at least 1 BSoD a day.
I frequently get randomly dropped from LOL games. In game... BAM desktop.
Right this second I can't get Steam to connect, and launching LOL just results in a splash screen for one second, then nothing. Not even an active process. It won't launch.
Time to reload, and fight with Windows 7 update YET AGAIN to not install Win10 on me?

Know what? Maybe I'll just let it install Win10, and see what happens. I appear to be fucked, anyway.

I hid all the "upgrade to Win10" nags, and the other data collecting updates, and when they kept trying to install anyway, I turned off windows update completely.
Just now I went to turn it all back on, went into my list of hidden updates, and there were none there. They all queued up to install. Fuck, man. Microsoft has gone full evil.

So far the Win10 upgrade has errored out twice.... after downloading the 8gigs or however big it is.
The 3rd DL just began. If this one fails I think I am just scratch/reloading Win 7.

I tried Win10 on one of my machines, and it just errored out too.

I enjoy the most how it can't just hit the file it already DL'd if it has to make a second attempt. It has to DL it all over again. Most companies figured out how to not do that like 20 years ago.

3rd failure. Good stuff.

It sounds like your PC is having issues. You either have a piece of hardware failing or you have software corrupted somewhere that's affecting everything. Might want to check your display drivers first. I had a similar issue with stuff crashing and updating my display drivers fixed it.
As for the Windows 10 thing, I think your PC must be picking up your vibes because I've had zero issues with it. I've installed it on two PCs and three Surfaces with no problem.
The only things I really don't like about Windows 10 is the asshole way they've been rolling it out and their belief that we don't need privacy. Other than that the installation and software itself has given me no issues.

I ran a chkdsk, and the drive is fine.
I reformatted the drive, as to get a fresh install.
So far I can already tell Win7 installed better, and I am seeing fewer problems already. I think my Win7 install has been fucked since jump street since last time I was trying to restrict the updates right at the beginning. This time I am just letting it update, then I am going to run this:

That's just going to eliminate the nagging. It won't stop it from "accidentally" upgrading you.
Do you have another PC that you can upgrade to 10? Obviously you are worried about the move for one reason or another, and perhaps you can put a test PC on 10 and test things out?

There's no "worry" about it, 7 works fine, I don't need 10, and I resist all attempts when people try to force me into shit for their own reasons. Why? Because fuck them, that's why.

Hey, as long as you don't mind committing a felony offense, that's fine.

I don't understand that reference.

It's not a reference. I'm just pointing out that when Microsoft deprecates Windows 7, then technically it is a felony to keep using it thanks to the DMCA. You don't own the software when you give them money, you license the right to use it. That license expires when they say it does, and if you "resist all attempts" to have your system upgrade to Windows 10 you have violated Title I of the DMCA which prohibits"circumvent[ing] a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work", the work in this case being the outgoing now-unlicensed Windows 7.
Welcome to the new century, where almost everyone that touches a computer is a felon in one way or another thanks to shitty laws.

If I wanted to waste the ink I would print out my Win7 licensing agreement and send in a picture of me rubbing my balls all over it to every piece of Microsoft social media, and snail mail address.

I could point out a million other examples of things changing in your life where you embraced the change and didn't protest, but that'd just be snarky.

You don't have the balls. (That works on two levels!)
