Deleting your non-iTunes music without telling you.
Apple's defense? According to the WSJ, “Apple contends the moves were legitimate security measures. Apple security director Augustin Farrugia testified that Apple did not offer a more detailed explanation because, “We don’t need to give users too much information,” and ‘We don’t want to confuse users.’”

Wow! Apple's security director might want to try talking down to their customer base a little more. The customers might not be getting the full Stockholm effect yet.

Their users will just love Apple more after that comment, knowing he is keeping their mental well-being in mind and not trying to confuse them.

Tim Cook waves his dick at a couple other companies.
Cook elaborated at length on themes he has mentioned previously, namely Apple's business model that depends on selling products, not users' data. He never mentions Facebook and Google by name, but they are the two largest tech companies that offer users services for free while making money on the personal information those users provide.

Your products are fifth-generation retreads of someone else's idea. Every single one from the inception of Apple up until right now.

So all your older iDevices will work better!!!!

(But developers will drop support for them...)

Making that move isn't surprising. I'd look to put all my 32-bit anythings out to pasture if I ran a major tech company/cult. Not being up front about it is douchey as hell. Not offering some sort of discount for trading in outdated hardware is stupid.

Progress does happen, but telling folks their old shit will be better while quietly making it so they'll be forced to stop using said old shit is the type of move that makes Apple suck.

Apple finally stops fucking over small-time musicians a bit. But they change their minds only after, may god and the devil help me, Taylor fucking Swift publicly calls them out.
