If you believe everything he says as gospel, he still only might be right in the long run.
Realistically, he's making some seriously big leaps with his assumptions and poor understanding about the corporate culture.
In reality, virtual and W8 are taking big chunks of MS, but they're still king of the hill. W9 should help, as should the rising Surface stock.
Oh, and if you work for a company where IT is getting pushed around by users, your company is behind the times. Not saying IT is the end all be all, but letting users dictate technology based on what's cool is not how successful businesses are run.
