One of my PCs told me today that it needed a Java update, so ya, cool, initiated it.

For a long time now it has been wanting to install the "Ask" toolbar... I always unchecked that pre-checked box, and carry on.

Today there was a second checkbox:

"Do you want to install AND KEEP the Ask toolbar?" That probably isn't the exact wording, but the gist I took away was that if you left that box checked, you wouldn't be able to uninstall the Ask toolbar after it was in.

Nice.

You can always uninstall a toolbar. Fuck Java and Sun Microsystems for making me uncheck that fucking box every time there's a Java update, which is approximately once every 4.8 hours.

Keep that box checked with the next update and let us know the results. "And keep" is a bit dubious.

Booting ask.com toolbar. It is obscene that they make it such a pain in the ass to remove and keep it checked by default.
