From here.
Internet Explorer uses up to 18 percent less energy than Google Chrome (version 26) and Mozilla Firefox (version 21)

Yep, because that's what I care about when I pick browsers.

Yeah, but then I'd have to have a Windows phone.

Yeah, I think this thread should have been titled "I'm going to show my bias against MS with a lame excuse".

You're like the liberal on my FB wall that supports Obama to the death, yet today is bitching about gas prices, while completely ignoring the 4 scandals.

Point: There are bigger fish to fry. When you start complaining about little stuff like this, you're the problem. :D

Realistically, Microsoft needs whatever wins they can get... so this is a way of saying "look, we are relevant-ish again" "we're cutting edge" "we're green"

MS is touting their energy efficiency for the latest version their browser that used to have 90% of the market share. They didn't lose those points because they use to much electricity.

EDIT: Was actually closer to 95%. From here.

I'm with Malcolm on this. It's like they're trying to sell the Ford Pinto by talking about the nice gas mileage while ignoring the fact that they keep exploding.
