I was just reading about channels having a shit fit over Time Warner streaming limited channels to people on their own LAN, and I learned about Slingbox, which has been around for years and allows you to stream all of your channels and contents of your DVR anywhere in the world, or your LAN.

So now I am wondering what is so special about the Time Warner iPad app.

Nothing, really, but it's Time Warner doing it now instead of some other small company, which is more threatening.
