I missed Catt's question in game. Was AFK.

Yes, I insured my ship. Current ship cost 1.3 million to insure at platinum level. Turns out, insurance only lasts about 2.5 months. I bought my ship for 4.7 million, and insurance payout is about 4.6. However, I've put a bunch of money into equipment as well.

I need some fast looters to run with me on my missions. I'm blowing lots of guys up, but don't have time to hop around and loot and continue the mission. Too many canisters. As I loot one, a new bad guy shows up. Have to leave loot behind and just continue.

What we need is an Interceptor wing! and you need a better afterburner!

heheh I upgraded the bottle rocket afterburner to an M10 cruiser class. So, I'm set with that. Running with 4 heavy launchers/scourge missles. Took the rail gun off so I can use shield booster, hardener/extender (don't remember which), cap booster and a dampener.

I might down grade one of my launchers back to standard level to save cpu/power grid. Four heavy launchers eat up all my power.

I guess my equipment sucks. I paid $80k for my platinum insurance.. payout of about $280k or so.

Alrighty, boys & girls. I'm probably gonna kick myself for this later on, but I'll hopefully be online later this month or early next month after I net a couple more checks & get some more RAM. Unless they suddenly fix that fucking memory leak problem. I'll also be laptop-ready for those times when class sucks. I guess I'll be sitting in the back row in colloquim this semester.

They say that the memory leak will be patched this month. I wouldn't hold my breath.

You could sign up now, just to get your training started - In fact, it would make your life better a few weeks from now.

You probably got a point. Semester don't start till after MLK day & I leave the machine running to torrent shit most of the time anyway. Train up learning, intelligence, memory, & all that shit. Also busy making my way thru the Player's Guide on the official website at work. I'm starting to get a decent grasp on how shit works. Vaguely reminds me of the combat system in Gladius in that it seems more chess than pong.

Whoa.

Got my level 2's today. "Effective quality" of 4.

Had to get close, run away taking 1-2 with me, then repeat a few times.

I need to upgrade my ship.

That is kind of a pattern, the harder level threes will be like that, for me. That is until I get a Battlecruiser, I suppose.

What exactly does "Quality" mean on an agent? Is negative good or positive?

Posted: Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:26 pm
by Troy
Quality simply refers to the quality of the reward you get from your agent.

All, Level 1/2/3/4 missions are the same difficulty (actually random)

Basically it makes sense to find the highest quality agent you can find, and do a lot of missions with them, as you can save up the LP for a good offer.

My best offer was two 1+ Int implants.

They instantaneously e-mailed a key out for me. I'll probably start the tutorial tomorrow as I've got an app't at noon (sprung on me today) which means I've got to weasel my way outta a day of work for the second time in as many weeks.

So you can use the LP without losing yuour effective standing?

I've been playing too much.

Today I had a dream that swiftness came online. (S)he saw me and targetted me. I then offered for her to "join my gang" as a peace offering. She then asked me if I was a weasal. I said no, and that we had a common enemy that we should hunt down (Troy). We then went to another system, I targetted her and destroyed her. Then her pod showed up as a shimmering green mass, I targetted it as she tried to warp, and got her. Her pod turned into black little space ashes.

But, since I apparetly destroyed her pod in 1.0 space, I became a criminal, and they wouldn't give me the reward.

I was going to suggest getting on and starting your training as well. If Leisher intends to play, he should as well. You don't have to play to learn. You don't even need to be logged in to learn. Gordon was worried about not keeping up with the crew. It's not time spent in game, but time making sure you are learning things. Sure, playing gets you experience managing the interface and stuff. But, three weeks not playing right now, but keeping the skills coming will mean you can play with others during week four, instead of 7 weeks from now, or whatever. . . The other thing you'll be short on is money, but, even that comes pretty quick. Especially if you've already learned everything.

I've been in game since Monday night. I'm all done with the tutorials and have been training skills. I'm going to start doing agent missions tonight and tomorrow as I'm off.

I'm still in my first ship, despite there being ships I can afford, and have no idea what ship I should be setting as my next goal for purchase...?

P.S. My Game Voice is fucked up for some reason. I'll be looking at it tonight.
