I imagine it's Bush's fault somehow.

A lot of things suck because of diffusion, which is caused by two varying concentrations of matter in close proximity to each other.

But that isn't technically a "sucking" action.

So software sucks cuz people suck?

Since people make lots of things, do all those things suck?

Depends on the person. I've seen sucky code, and good code. Unfortunately most of the good code i've seen is my own.

Software is fine. Some people just misuse it.

Most types of most things suck.

Everyone has the potential to do something that doesn't suck. However, that chance is not uniform.

Why can't I just have backup software that I say "copy all this shit to these tapes, cycling through them all, then go back to the beginning when you are full"?

Why can't the database just maintain itself instead of telling me to reorg some segments?

Why doesn't Apple just make a version of everything? Sure, I could only backup to one type of tape, but at least it'd work just by pushing 2 buttons.

IT products just suck.

Most software I've seen has a shitty interface.

What the heck is up with backup software? What we want it to do is so simple. Sometimes I wish I could just use a batch file and pkzip to do what I want.

AS/400. "Save while active." Part of the OS. Don't even need to get peeps off the system, first.

Why don't you? Throw it into AT or cron and call it a day.
