If you ever get stuck with the Japanese version of Youtube for a couple weeks because all the menu's to switch it back to Engrish are in Japanese, you should know that the red bullet at the right of the above picture is indeed *not* a bullet, nor is it a placeholder for an unloaded image.
In fact, it is the flag of Japan, symbolizing where you can go and correct the problem.
Duh on me.
