Since I own a domain, I tend to get a large amount of junk mail to crap addresses. Additionally, at least one spammer forges emails using my domain (yay!) so I get lots of "undeliverable email" msgs from their targets.
Today I decided that I just didn't want to see the spam. No more of letting my PC do the spam checking.
So I routed all emails not explicitly addressed to the few personal accounts I have setup to Gmail. Gmail then filters out the spam. Any remaining emails, I have forwarded to my person account.
Just did it about 30 minutes ago. 2 spam caught and not forwarded already.

I was looking at my web host's website a week ago and noticed that they advertised a free spam blocker with the package I'm using.
I was getting hit pretty hard with spam, and my freeware spam blocker isn't as effective as it used to be, so I looked into it.
It ends up I just had to login to my admin page and enable it. I've been living the good life for a week now.
Using Gmail is a good idea though.

So is there any way with your ISP to see things it flagged as spam that never reaches you? I'm wary of trusting my host with that.

Wow, that's all the spam you get in a couple of hours?
I'm getting over 600 a day. Thank God for Yahoo!'s spam filters.

Dear God. I thought the 60-75/day I got was too much.
One of my co-workers told me the other day he was getting a "ridiculous" amount of spam.
How much, I asked...
5-6 a DAY! he replied.
I laughed.

Heh. Well, now you can laugh at him for me, too. 
I like my email address. Had it since Yahoo first opened up with email. It's the only way that anyone I've known in the past can always find me again in the future. Phone numbers change, and I move around every couple of years, but that email address is forever.
I refuse to let the spammers run me off 'o my property!

I don't get much important email to those addresses, so message retrieval isn't a big deal for me.

I was getting 100-200 a day on my original dtman email addys.
I disabled those accounts about 2 years ago.
Recently, out of curiosity, I recreated those mail boxes... they were still receiving 100-200 a day.
Gadzooks.
