Ok, I'm too lazy to search through the archives, so I'm starting a new thread. Those of you who have websites (Gordon, Paul, Catt, Vince I'm looking at you), would you mind posting which companies host your sites, and about how much you pay per month or year or whatever?

kthx

I use 1 and 1, which is currently free due to the plan I signed up with a while ago. Their hosting starts at $3/month for basic stuff (1 domain name, 5GB space, FTP access, 10MB MySQL DB, 250GB/month Xfer, PHP3-5 support, 500 email accounts, 2GB email).

I am a fan of their services, and would pay for them when my plan expires.

Basic hosting plans

Let me know if you decide to go with them after reviewing everything, cuz I'd get a tiny referral thingy.

DTMan is on startlogic.com, which is comparable to the plan Catt posted, and I believe they have me on a Linux platform, which I prefer.

I also have 1&1 for free, and have had no problems with them.

Follow-up question: registering a domain name. Did you let your host do it for you, or what? What's the process?

I let 1&1 do it. Easy peasy, just type it in, verify it's available, and press the OK button.

I had my own before I joined 1and1.

Who did you use to register it before 1&1?

Interland.net, but that was because they were my previous hosting service.

I apparently used NameScout to register a name at one point.

And GoDaddy to register something else another time.

Basically, I just searched for whatever was cheapest.
