Yahoo's Maps API sucks despite its apparent simplicity. Even their own sample XML file doesn't work properly.

But, hell, Google has maps, so we've to've maps, too, sorta. If Google does it, we'll do it, by Christ! Wonder how long before they have me scanning books...

Someone needs to devise a wide-spread system for cars to broadcast where they are and where they go, and a mainframe to index the data on a net... say in the sky... so instead of some algorithm trying to give you directions, you have actual experiences of people who actually drive it.

This system could be called, perhaps, SkyNet.

They are already working on it. 22 cities with XM radio use actual drivers to report conditions,. traffic flow, etc as repotred by their car.
